December Already?!

Javi and I explored Blackies Pasture in Tiburon, where I haven’t been for years. We discovered there’s a new walking area near the shore (OK, probably not so new since it’s likely been at least 20 years since I’ve been there!) I only ever went there to go bike riding on the path, which is closer to the traffic. Wonderful views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco peeking through the fog.

I got the outdoor Christmas lights up on the house, I’m getting pretty good at it having done it now for the last several years. Mom and I finished decorating the tree and the house. I do something a little different every year, especially in my bedroom. Once I get started, I don’t want to stop until everything is done. I love getting up early on these chilly mornings, turning on the fire, sitting by the Xmas tree, listening to acoustical Christmas music and writing in my journal. Heaven!

Mom and I went to a meeting at the local community center about potential solutions to unsafe pedestrian and bike access on Marin Avenue. We listened to a woman complain that her property taxes are $30k and she spent $100k on landscaping so she doesn’t want a sidewalk in front of her house. Then a guy talked at length about the butterfly habitat along Marin Ave, among other topics (I’ll bet you big $ he is an attorney). Someone else had a ‘Save the butterflies’ sign! But for the most part there was good discussion and people genuinely wanted to find solutions, even though they are pretty limited, it’s not like they can widen the road.

Wednesday was the final Zoom session with the Wild Soul Woman group I’ve been meeting weekly with since January. I can’t believe it is almost been a year! What an incredible experience. I spent time this last week reviewing my WSW journal where I captured all the writing prompts and things that came up for me over the year while reading the book and meeting with the group. It has been an incredible experience to spend time every week with a supportive, committed, intelligent, fierce, and loving group of wild women. I’ve learned about myself and gotten to know women from all over the world. I’ll miss meeting with them so regularly, but it looks like Mary, the author, will be hosting a monthly group in 2026 which I plan to join.

I’ve been treated to some gorgeous sights on my walks with Javi, whether it’s been the beautiful pink dawn or the full bright moon at night, even seeing it’s reflection in the water on a cloudy morning. The trees are still showing off their vibrant leaves. I just love this time of the year!
