Time to catch up on my posting since I returned from Sweden. The flights back were relatively uneventful, though because of delays in leaving or getting to the gate I ended up having to rush to get through customs in both Amsterdam and Seattle and then rush to get to my gates. In Amsterdam we got off the plane and were loaded into a bus, which seemed to drive us on a tour around the entire tarmac before finally dropping us off to where we would go through customs! It’s always a challenging transition when I’ve been gone a long time. I’m happy to see mom and sleep in my own bed and have some of those comforts of home, but I’m also sad about my trip being over and wondering what is next for me. It took a few days to readjust back to US time, but getting out for walks in the neighborhood and picking wild blackberries helped. I went for hikes on the local trails including a trip to Tennessee Valley Beach where I saw quail, deer, rabbits and even a bobcat! I’ve been getting some work done as well.

My sister Lori and one of her best friends from high school, Julie, stayed over on night and we went out for lunch with mom at her favorite place, The Cantina. We sat outside and it was a beautifully warm day so that was a treat. I spent a few days in LA for a State Bar meeting, on the flight back we got a beautiful view of Mount Diablo.

We got to celebrate Kourtney with a wedding shower. It was great to be able to spend time with my sisters and two of my kids and get to know Kourtney’s family a little bit better. Kieran showed up near the end with a bouquet of flowers, which was very sweet. I can’t believe the wedding is in 6 weeks!

It was a bit of an adjustment returning to the states and I wasn’t gone as long as you were.
The wedding is coming up quickly. Such an exciting time.
I think I have the same dress you’re wearing.
No way!
