A Bit of This & That

Highlights of the last few days:

Thursday

Walking to the Mill Valley public library along back streets. Lots of hills/stairs so it was a good workout. Seeing adorable front gardens.

Friday

Attending a friend (and former CCCBA BOD member)’s judicial investiture. So wonderful to see her being honored for all her hard work and accomplishments and to celebrate with her. I also got to catch up with friends and met some awesome people.

Saturday

Morning sunrise walk by Richardson Bay and going to inspiring (and free!) Litquake events in SF with my sister Christina and her friend Jenn. I was blown away by a reading of the first act of the play Sign My Name to Freedom based on the memoir by Betty Reid Soskin, who, among many other accomplishments, retired as a National Park ranger at the age of 100. I can’t wait to see the full production when it comes out next spring (just wish I didn’t need to wait that long!) We also saw a hilarious parody of Treasure Island called Pleasure Island put on by the Castro Writers Collective and a joyful and energetic cabaret show of queer Latinx performers. These were only 3 of the 40+ performances going on that night-there were so many more that we wanted to attend, as well as the street salsa dancing we passed by!

Sunday

Christina went on a run with friends and I walked Javi from Sausalito to home in what started out as on and off sprinkles but finished as full on rain! But we were fine once we got into dry clothes and settled in front of the fireplace. We spent most of the day reading and eating by the fire. Not bad for a rainy Sunday.
