I got my haircut on Thursday morning then headed back to San Francisco for my last day of petsitting, on the way back I stopped at Treasure Island, a place I’ve never been to before. There wasn’t much to see on the island except a lot of construction, though the views of the city were awesome! I did stop at Mersea, definitely want to go back there and check it out.
I had a lovely last couple of walks with Otis around the neighborhood before I headed back home on Friday. I am just loving having the time to look at the beautiful plants and flowers on our walks, as well as batgirl!
On Saturday, I did a ton of laundry (and found a beautiful butterfly on my clothes afterwards!), then went to a production of Romeo and Juliet in Old Mill Park. The costumes and setting were fantastic, though I did find myself getting a bit bored. I think I’ve seen Romeo and Juliet so many times I enjoy it more if it’s done in a way other than a straight Shakespeare production. But it’s always great to get out and enjoy some outdoor theater.
After the play I went to a pizza making party at one of the CCCBA wellness committee members houses. Even though it was very hot in Antioch, her backyard was a wonderful oasis with lots of trees and shade, and even a bit of a breeze. The ice cold sangria also helped to keep me cool. It was so wonderful to get to catch up with CCCBA friends and hear about what everybody is up to. When I got back in my car at 7 PM the temperature registered 104°! I was very happy to be heading to a cooler part of the Bay Area and by the time I got back to Mill Valley my car temperature read 64°, which made sense given the windy and foggy weather there.
Mom and I had a delightful video chat with Annemarie catching up on what’s going on in her life, she always has some hilarious stories about the kids at work. It makes it so much easier when she is far away knowing that I can have a video chat with her and get to see her. Though it does make me want to go back for another visit to New Zealand.

So glad you found Mersea. They have great food and an amazing view. There are also some wineries on TI that are worth checking out.
