Hanging Out at TAC

My first week back in Wyoming has consisted of beautiful sunrises, a couple of days of snow, LOTS of wind, getting to meet John, the happiest, sweetest little baby, helping prepare meals for a group from Duke law school who are learning about Heart Mountain Japanese Internment Camp, doing paid work, and of course, walking the labyrinth at least twice a day.

I’ve spent most of my time at TAC enjoying the beauty and quiet, but have taken a few ventures into town – going for a walk on the Paul Stock Trail one afternoon, to the local ‘picking’ at Rawhide coffee and to a family night at the Buffalo Bill Center with Rebekah and Rob and the kids. There was a great photo exhibit of country fashion over the decades and we got a snack of mini corn dogs and pretzel bites .On a couple of the very cold nights and mornings I made a fire in the huge stone fireplace, it doesn’t produce a ton of heat, but it’s very cozy. I’ve also enjoyed sitting in the library, reading, knitting, and writing.

I have heard, but not yet seen, the resident owl. I have seen the bunny rabbits and their tracks in the snow, a pheasant as well as some deer on the hill. Not a bad life.
