Started the morning enjoying coffee, reading and journaling then headed out for a morning hike at Coal Creek with Christina and Javi. Wonderful hike that climbed up through a forest next to a tumbling creek. At one point Javi’s ears went straight up and he started to climb into the bushes. Luckily Christina stopped him, because he had sensed a mama and baby moose! They were a good distance from us so we could safely observe them then continue on the trail keeping Javi closer on the leash.
Javi and I had a last wander around Victor, drove past what used to be the Spud Drive In Theatre (we were in Idaho after all!) that is now closed because of storms last year that ruined the screen after more than 60 years in service. The huge potato on a flatbed truck is still there though. Christina spent the day working and I relaxed and finished reading my book after we got back to Jackson. It was crazy windy!
Later I went for a drive to Grand Teton and saw bison! It was quite a day for seeing wildlife from a distance.
Tonight we went to see a documentary that was part of the Jackson Film Festival called Bitterbrush. Wow! Incredible scenery, amazing strong women, beautiful music, I’m so glad we went as I probably wouldn’t have considered it if we weren’t in similar beautiful country. it was also really cool to see local advertising on the screen. It made me think that I should go out to movies when I visit new places. The theater was only a 10 minute walk away, and we saw a full moon glowing behind the mountain on our way home.
