Spring Flowers and Changes

I’m doing some house and pet sitting in San Francisco again. I spent some time on Thursday doing a bit more training at the Marin County Bar Association then headed to the city to see my buddies Otis and Chicken. Otis and I walked to China Beach, enjoying the beautiful views and lack of crowds. It was a quiet evening, I watched a movie on YouTube that was created by Save Mount Diablo about the Diablo range, which is much more vast than I realized. It chronicled the changes in the area after the different fires that have occurred in the last decade or so. It is heartwarming to see the difference two years of regular rainfall have made. I am anxious to get back out hiking in the state park, as well as exploring some of the other areas mentioned in the video. The condors that have started to proliferate and move further afield from Pinnacles National Park are just fascinating.

On Friday, I headed to the East Bay and hung out for a bit with Emmy and Winston. I got some great shots of Winston drooling, lol. Later I had lunch with my former colleagues at the Contra Costa County Bar Association in celebration of the retirement of one of the women who has worked there for 36 years! It was wonderful to catch up with everybody, meet some of the new staff members and see how happy Emily was as she looked forward to her retirement. It was very nice to be included in the celebration. The rain made the drive back to the city slow, though I was very thankful I was not the person who got into an accident on Highway 24 and ended up facing the wrong way on the shoulder next to the fast lane. Hopefully they came out of it unscathed.

On our neighborhood walks I was drawn to all of the colorful, blooming flowers and water droplets on succulents.

I’m enjoying having more free time to let my thoughts wander as I contemplate the next steps in my journey.
