I headed home and had no problems getting to the airport or getting through security. I think I’m spoiled from the food offerings at SFO and Oakland, at my gate at Charles de Gaulle there seemed to be mainly prepackaged food and coffee machine coffee. The flight was fine, I finally got to see the Barbie movie and was happy that it lived up to the hype – I had so much fun watching it. I’m sure the people sitting around me thought I was very strange because I kept laughing and moving to the music. I ended up in the middle of a row with a nice woman sitting next to me on one side. We chatted about our families, she had been in Sardinia visiting her parents. On my other side was a guy who sat down and immediately splayed his legs and arms out to take over much more than his allotted space. It was very annoying so I kept moving around to try to get my space back. I have to say I was so disappointed with the food on Air France. I had initially been very excited when I heard that the flight home would be on Air France instead of Delta. The food was absolutely horrible, it was basically bland cafeteria food. How depressing when there’s so much delicious, inexpensive food available in France.
It took me a few days to recover from the trip, mainly the cold I picked up when I was there. I ended up sleeping a lot in between getting out for walks when the weather allowed. I am enjoying all the beautiful spring flowers.
On Sunday I got out for a wonderful hike on the Steep Ravine trail with my friend Heather. I can never get enough of that hike, I was glad to get to introduce Heather to the lush beauty of it.
I’ve restarted working on my gap year guide and am looking into potential short term work projects. Trying not to get too stressed out about not having work lined up right away. Annemarie will be here in just over a week and I want to have plenty of time to spend with her.
