I’ve been enjoying post-rain walks around the neighborhood, checking out the raindrops clinging to flowers and grasses.
Today I hiked to Cascade Canyon waterfall in Fairfax. I’ve hiked around that area before but I don’t think I’ve ever been to the waterfall. It was lovely, a wonderful spot for contemplation, which someone was doing when I arrived.
I passed a couple of adorable free little libraries on my way back home. Driving around Fairfax and San Anselmo brought back such memories from when Emmy and Annemarie were little and we lived there. I passed a couple of the neighborhood parks where we spent a lot of time, the communications company I worked for, and a restaurant that was owned by a friend’s parents when I was growing up. By the time I moved to San Anselmo it had changed ownership and was a great place to meet other moms and bring our kids because there was a kids play area and for $3.33 you could get two eggs, two pancakes, two pieces of bacon and a cup of coffee!
I am all packed and ready for my trip to Paris! I’m trying to stop myself from doing too many things in the six days that I will be there. My plan is to do a lot of walking around and see what catches my interest. I do want to check out one or two of the church concerts and I’m hoping to be able to see the quarter or semifinals of the youth competition at the Paris Philharmonic which are taking place this weekend. Yippee!
