On my morning walk I crossed over the railroad tracks just before an Amtrak passenger train went by, then followed the river for a while. There were several benches made from fallen trees scattered above the river, I’m sure they are lovely spots to relax during the summer, though on this cold, drizzly morning they weren’t enticing.
We reluctantly packed up and headed home, driving in pretty intense rain for the first couple of hours. We passed many rain-filled orchards, the flowering trees standing in lakes of water. Listening to Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone helped us focus on something else during the drive. All the rain we’ve had over the last 2 months has turned the hills a vibrant emerald green, it’s so wonderful to see. We made it back safely, dropped the boys off and then I said goodbye to Chrissy and got resettled back home.
