Another Board Retreat Completed

The week ended well. I had a quiet evening on Thursday, preparing for the board retreat on Friday. After dinner, I put had a fire in the living room and reviewed my notes for the presentations I was doing for the retreat, then did some yoga and read my book. I’ve been doing about 10 or 15 minutes of yoga stretching every night for the last few weeks and my body is definitely feeling better because of it.

The MCBA board retreat on Friday went well. It was wonderful to see the positive energy and excitement between the board members especially when they were in breakout groups getting to know each other, and having discussions about where they’d like to see the organization go in the future. It’s great to see such a collegial group, it almost made me wish I had taken the permanent Executive Director role. But knowing how busy the job is and how unlikely it would be to take any extended time off, I knew I had made the right decision for this time in my life.

After the retreat, I headed to the auto shop to pay for the repairs on my car. Besides some minor rodent damage, there was transmission work that needed to be done which was not covered by my insurance. The work turned out to be less expensive than originally expected which was good. I’ve had almost no work done on my car so even though it’s never fun to spend money on things like that, I didn’t mind so much.

I am looking forward to a weekend with very little planned!
