Running On Empty

I haven’t posted all week, haven’t even had the time to think about posting. The new Executive Director started on Monday and it has been full on training her up and dealing with all the busyness of the start of a new year and the many big events coming up in the next month. I forgot how exhausting it can be to train somebody new, especially someone who has not been part of the legal profession. She is doing fine, but I find I’m wiped out at the end of the day from all of the talking and trying to keep up with all the things that need to get done in the normal course of the day. This would normally be a very busy time of the year without having to train somebody and adding that on top it’s even more so. The fact that I haven’t been with this organization for very long and I don’t know what the normal routine things are means I spend even more time trying to figure out what to do. So by the time I get home I’m pretty much ready to collapse. I’ve been lucky that Mom has made dinners, it is absolutely heaven to come home to a house that smells delicious. The only other things I’ve been doing in the evening is about 10 minutes of yoga stretches, and at least 10 minutes of working on the gap year guide. That has felt good getting at least a little bit of work done on it every day. I did see a gorgeous early morning sky, some great garden art and a stunning dusk sky during my walks this week.

We had a late start one morning because of some late in the day meetings, so I treated myself to Philz. There was some awesome artwork in the store and a customer gratitude book. Love that!
