Sights I have seen over the last week:
The Christmas star on top of a tree in the neighborhood. This star has been here for literally decades, at least since I was a little kid, maybe even before that time. It’s one of the things I look forward to seeing during the holiday season.
A crane on the bank of the canal. I love seeing so many different kinds of birdlife when I walk around here.
A sitting bench in the neighborhood near my office. I love this idea!
Seeing a new attorney being sworn in by a soon-to-be retired judge. It’s always so wonderful to witness events like this!
Spiderwebs in the bushes by the mailbox, dusted with dew.
Sunrise colors on my morning walk. Getting to see the gorgeous morning sky is a real motivator to get me outside on cold mornings.
Finding an outdoor seating area at SFO with cool sculptures and a view of an Air New Zealand jet.
Sunset views from the plane and holiday lights in downtown LA. I found out later that the daytime Emmy awards were being held at the hotel. Unfortunately, I didn’t see Susan Lucci, Maury Povich or Connie Chung. Bummer.
An awesome box for supporting queer Scouts inside Philz Coffee. The view from my hotel room as the sun rose.
My fellow JNE commissioners after our holiday dinner and white elephant gift exchange and the next morning before we finished our work for the day. What a fantastic group of people.
Beautiful sunset views from the plane on my way home.
Views from Mount Diablo during a very challenging hike with my friend Julie. We saw a deer and animal watering troughs with huge koi in them. We got rained on a bit and completely loved hiking together again. It had been way too long.
The Benicia Clocktower from the outside and from the inside during the Golden Gate Symphony and Chorus’ Sing-along Messiah. What a fun group!
