Got out for a hike up to Miwok Trail, it was a foggy morning, obscuring the views at the top. The views on the hike were awesome- gorgeous trees, several banana slugs and a Seek rock.
Later I had lunch with my friend Isabel at a yummy Japanese restaurant. We got caught up on our families (our kids went to preschool together many years ago), and discussed the nonprofit she has recently started. I’m so impressed with her commitment to supporting kids who are not native English speakers.
The next day I played chauffeur for my mom as she was having some minor surgery. While I waited I went for a walk in nearby neighborhood where I saw some whimsical things-a metal goat in a tree, a free little art library, painted rocks. We had a quiet afternoon, mom rested and I read. I just started a book, My View of the Bright Moon, written by a friend from New Zealand, Cathy Kern. It is so cool to read a book written by a friend!
I started my work as the Interim Executive Director at the Marin County Bar this week. I’m glad to get to work with my friend Mee Mee, the outgoing ED, for a couple of weeks. It’s a great organization, I’m looking forward to getting to know the board and members over the next few months.
Friday found me walking Otis on Baker Beach. It was a brisk, beautiful evening and the beach was filled with people getting their wedding photos – I saw 6 different couples with their photographers. What a gorgeous night!
