Exploring Jackson

Walked Javi along the path just around the corner from the place we are staying, found  a couple of little free libraries and enjoyed the rushing river next to the path as the sun rose. Stopped and got some coffee and delicious pastries and headed back home. We drove out to Cache Creek trailhead and hiked, so lovely and green next to the flowing river. There were butterflies and crickets galore. Javi had a ball snapping at and eating crickets!! When we went off the main trailhead up in the hills we decided to sing to keep the bears away (because we had not bought bear spray) so did our best Neil Sedaka and Sound of Music songs. I think Javi was pretty embarrassed! I loved the different signs along the trail reminding people to clean up their dog poop and pay attention to what was around them.

After lunch we headed into Jackson for a look around town, we ended up spending the most time in the local church thrift store-we both got some great deals! By mid afternoon it was getting hot and crowded so we went home and headed to the river near our place. What a treat to stick my feet in the cold water! Javi had a ball going in after his frisbee. We read under the trees listening to the river flow, I wrote postcards to the kids.

For dinner we walked to an excellent Mexican restaurant where we got a pitcher of margaritas and some delicious food. What a wonderful evening and even better that we could walk home!
