Wednesday Happenings

I’m enjoying the pattern and pace of my work days on the farm. Up around 6 to journal and sometimes meditate, farm chores and milking from 7-9, a relaxed breakfast often with others, some time to myself then a couple of hours in the fromagerie or helping out elsewhere on the farm. Next is lunch, then the afternoon to myself, often getting out for a walk and/or reading. Evening chores and milking are from 5-7pm, then helping with dinner prep and having dinner with whoever is on the farm. Sometimes it’s game night, occasionally going out to music, or just hanging out. Some nights I’m just ready for bed as often dinner isn’t over until close to 9pm.

Today I woke up to an overcast but not rainy day-yeah! Because I didn’t work today I luxuriated with a coffee and a book, then after breakfast went for a walk where I was inspired to create some nature art.

In the afternoon I got a ride into Sherbrooke with Brittany and Noé. On the way we stopped at the local gas station/auto repair shop where they were playing classical music (that was unexpected!) It is an old run down place with boxes of various auto supplies filling the entryway. There are two very old gas pumps with the price per liter written on masking tape because the pump indicator didn’t go over $1.99/liter.

In town I saw a church that had been converted a climbing gym and many incredibly realistic murals depicting Sherbrooke history and culture.

I stopped at a cafe for tea and on the wall next to me was a painting of a dog that looked just like Winston!
