A Day Off

Woke up in the middle of the night to a thunderstorm, the room lighting up from lightning flashs and rain cascading down. It was delightful! I ended the day in a similar way, as I went to bed it was storming again. In between it alternated between sunny and cloudy, with particularly dramatic skies in the afternoon.

I spent the day on the farm, did my laundry, got some JNE work done, researched Québec City and Montréal and figured out some places I’d like to explore, made zucchini bread and spent time hanging out with various people. Chloé showed me some hilarious Instagram reels of a guy trying to explain English spelling to a French speaker and French spelling to an English speaker. Awesome! Nina and I talked about her plans for a no weed garden and how she is hoping it will work.

It is so wonderful to see the supportive and loving friendship that Val, Nina and Lysanne have. I had dinner with the three of them last night – organic corn, sautéed rhubarb from the garden, cheese (of course!) and a variety of homemade items -kimchi, pickled beans and soy pods and a flavorful rub made from garlic flowers. I’m continually amazed by what is created from the ingredients found on the farm. Anyway, I loved listening to them joke and laugh, discuss and decide and just be together. They have such a happy, vibrant energy.

Saw this sticker on a mirror in a café-love it!
