Hanging Out With Friends and Dogs

Today, Otis, Chicken (the cat) and I had a quiet morning at home. Otis and I went out for a walk in the fog and saw a cool view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Later in the morning, I went to mom’s as we had family friends coming over for lunch. I was able to get my sheets washed and hung up on the line, they smelled so good after a day in the sunshine. We ended up with a smaller group than expected because of vacation schedules and Bay Area traffic jams, but it was great getting to spend time with Aunt Annie and Rachel along with my mom and a couple of my sisters. We all had a good laugh looking through old photo albums of pictures of us back in the 70s and early 80s – got to love those clothes. It’s always wonderful to see mom spending time with her best friend Ann, and of course we always learn a few new stories about their busy social lives when they were single and living in San Francisco in the 1960s.

I took Javi back with me to hang out with Otis and give Chrissy a chance to get in some kayaking, and have a chance to read a book and enjoy a glass of wine at the Sausalito Cruising Club. It’s the least I can do after all the times she took my kids on adventures when they were little, and on awesome trips when they graduated from high school. Javi and Otis did really good going on a walk together, which I was very grateful for. I ended the evening watching a little more Ted Lasso. Though I’m not as impressed with the third season as I was with the first two, I’m still enjoying it very much.
