Today was a fairly active day, though I spent the day at or close to home. On my walk in the neighborhood this morning, I saw some blackberries that are almost ripe enough to eat! Also saw some plums that are still very green. I love seeing wild fruit when I’m out walking around.
When I got back, I decided it was time to finally wash my car. My kids washed my car for many years as a way to earn a little extra money. Once they had all moved out of the house, I usually went to a car wash, so it’s been quite a few years since I’ve washed the car myself. It was a sunny morning and great weather for getting wet. it had been quite a while since my car had last been washed and it had been on many dirt roads, so it took a bit of scrubbing to get it clean, but I was very happy with the results. Mom got home just as I was finishing up so I washed her car as well which made her happy.
I hung clothes out and they smell so good since they’ve been drying outside all day. I also trimmed the night blooming jasmine vines that were getting up into the patio roof. And now that we have stained the outdoor glider rocker, we shifted it back to its position in the backyard.
I spent part of the day getting some JNE work done, then decided to hike up to the Miwok trail – one of my favorite hikes nearby.
Finally, I spent some time brainstorming about two projects that I’ve decided I’m going to devote my time to – one is the Women’s Midlife Gap Year Guide and the other is creating some kind of gratitude workshop, encouraging people to see the positive impact that gratitude practices can make in their lives. I have no idea how either of these things are going to turn out, but I am feeling drawn to do something very different from what I’ve done before, and without any expectation of earning money from them. I’m excited and nervous-kind off how I’ve been this whole last year!
