I woke up early this morning and felt like getting out for another drive, so I headed towards Meeteetse, where I had read about a nice drive in the Wood River Valley. This led me to an area with several ranches, wild antelope and eventually another part of the Shoshone National Forest with incredible mountain views and wildflowers, it was an amazing place.
I spent some time reading and taking in the views, then headed to the Meeteetse Chocolatier. Besides picking up some more truffles, different flavors from what I got last time, I got a gruyère & prosciutto croissant (so flaky!), a dark chocolate scone, and a morning bun with dark chocolate and orange peel. I’m really glad that I do not live close by this place, I think I would end up spending a lot of money on these absolutely delicious desserts.
When I got home, I sat in the backyard updating my blog on yesterday’s adventures. I saw a bird trying unsuccessfully catch a worm for a snack, our local bunny munching the backyard grass, and a robin singing joyfully at the top of the tree. Erin and I took a walk along the irrigation canal following it into the neighborhood next door. We passed a group of deer, they didn’t seem real worried that we were walking nearby. It poured on us for the last half of our walk, but that was part of the fun!
I ended the day with a walk around the labyrinth, watching the magical sky.
