So this is what it’s like to wake up and not have a list of work to-do’s floating around in my head. I could get used to it! My plan today was to not plan to do anything, just see what happens. So that meant a long, lovely morning sitting in bed reading, (The Girl in His Shadow, the current Big Library Read, I’m really enjoying it!) drinking coffee and eating that delicious cinnamon sugar donut I bought yesterday after the goodbye lunch with my co-workers. Apparently someone else thought my donut looked pretty good!
Later, I headed out the door, then promptly came back inside to get a waterproof jacket – summer in Mill Valley means fog most mornings and today it was literally dripping outside! But after 20+ years of Concord heat, the cold summer mornings of my childhood are a welcome change. I headed up to the Miwok trail, about 1/4 mile walk from my Mom’s house, and delighted in the muddy trail and fog shrouding the trees. I was NOT delighted with the mountain bikers whizzing by on what I am sure should be a pedestrian only trail, though there were no markers indicating who could or could not use the trail. My old lady indignation rose up and I had to bite my tongue to keep from yelling ‘Get off my trail!’ Uh oh…
