Went for a walk and found a free little library that had Star Wars-related literacy quotes all over it. The library had Take Me Out of the Bathtub, one of my kids’ favorite books. On my walk, listened to The Moth podcast where one of the storytellers was one of the professors from my MNA program!
Did my morning journaling.
Practiced Taiko drumming. It was a challenging session but I could see some progress by the end.
Checked out different local counties sustainability/recycle program websites, going down quite a few different rabbit holes. Ended up registering for a few different zoom webinars and classes on sustainability topics and reserving a couple of books at the library.
Started reading a new book set in Japan in the 1950s, had to limit the amount of time I spent reading or I wouldn’t have done anything else today.
Went for a hike at Lime Ridge open space with my hiking buddies. Got annoyed at the mountain bikers who were on the hiking only trail, most of them were very apologetic, and seemed honestly surprised that bikes were not allowed on the trail. Not totally surprising given the number of bike tire ruts on the trail and the fact that the ‘no bikes’ symbol on the trail head markers are pretty small. Went past two dog walkers with their 10 charges, all of whom were wearing warm winter jackets. They were a delightful, happy crew, and made us smile.
Had potstickers for lunch, Yum
Researched short term and gig job ideas.
Did some journaling when I started to feel anxious and fearful about what I’m going to do to earn an income in the future.
Watched a short, unexpected rain shower come down.
Snuggled with Winston on the couch.
Texted my kids and sisters about various things.
Set up a time to go for a walk with a friend.
Had a delicious dinner of roasted red pepper and tomato soup, salad and cornbread muffins.
Finished reading Finding Your Way in a Wild New World by Martha Beck, a book that I have been slowly getting through over the last few months. There are a lot of different concepts to understand and exercises to do so I took my time and I’m very glad that I did.
Did my evening proprioceptive writing.
Put on a face mask, which caused Winston to bark at me a lot.
