Little free libraries and errands

This morning I went walking in a different part of the neighborhood and found a trail that led to a street where one house had an egg box with gorgeous blue eggs and across the street was a Free little library with a whimsical travel sign.

A little confession, I’ve become so enamored with little free libraries I downloaded the app and now check to see if there are any when I’m traveling through a new area! I was able to check out a few more this afternoon while my mom was at PT.

Ran errands with mom today and realized how different shopping is when you move at a slower speed. Mom is using a cane to get around as her knee is still healing from surgery and it means she takes longer to get inside and move around stores. Most people were very polite and patient and she would often wave them ahead of us so they could move on, but I could see how challenging it can be to need extra time to navigate and find what you need, especially in a busy, noisy environment. And it’s 10 times worse if you aren’t familiar with the store or products (I’m talking to you, Best Buy!) We were both happy to get back to a quiet house where I could read in the backyard and she could watch the 49ers on TV.
