Had a fantastic hike at Olompali State Park this morning, a place I had driven past many times but had never explored. It has definitely not had much attention, due I’m sure to the lack of funding that state parks receive, but I was surprised at what a wonderfully peaceful place it was to hike despite being located so close to highway 101. The manzanita trees in particular were just breathtaking, I kept stopping to take pictures.
I came around the corner early on in the hike and surprised 3 deer who were happily munching away on leaves.
Spent the afternoon shredding my parents old tax returns and back statements that had been stored in the attic, dating back to 1990! Funny seeing how little I earned at my college jobs, at the time it seemed like so much money.
Ended the day with a walk by the marsh with friends and a delicious dinner at Sol Food. It has been so wonderful to have the time to take leisurely walks and hang out with friends. I want to make sure there is time in my week to be able to do things like this regularly. I have a missed this kind of connection with others.
