On this morning’s walk I saw a boy riding his bike to school with a helmet so big he had to tilt his head way back so he could see out of the helmet that was sliding over his eyes. Also saw a preschooler still in his PJs helping his dad sweep the leaves off the front steps. Another kid went by on a scooter wearing a warm hat on his head and such a big scarf wrapped around his neck and face I could see only see his eyes.
Today I hiked around Phoenix Lake. The lake was very still, making beautiful reflections. It’s such a wonderful spot, especially on an overcast day, the forest growing over the trail, so green and lush. Later I checked out Roy’s Redwoods in Woodacre. About half the hike was in the redwoods which were gorgeous, but the rest was exposed and near a busy road so not so enjoyable.
