One of my college roommates sent me this adorable handmade Halloween card-she is so creative, also makes amazing decorated cookies.
Started the day with a hike in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area near my mom’s house. I went on the Oakwood Meadow trail to the Oakwood Valley trail up (a lot of up!) to the Alta trail. The fog burned off as I headed uphill and made for beautiful views of Sausalito.
I made myself French toast for breakfast, something I haven’t done in a long time. I’m not a fan of syrup, unless it’s a homemade fruit syrup. I used to make a yummy blackberry, raspberry, strawberry syrup when I canned fruit. I might do that again next summer! But today I just put powdered sugar on my French toast, yum.
Later I cleaned out an unused mini fridge Mom has on the patio (maybe it was from someone’s college days??). Listening to Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me helped make it a more enjoyable job. After that I started watching season 3 of Broadchurch which I had apparently missed when it came out last year. And, of course, got totally sucked in and couldn’t stop after one episode! Afterwards I got out for a walk around the neighborhood, where I seemed to be the only person not walking a dog. 😝
After dinner tonight I had some of the New Zealand Whittaker’s Artisan chocolate squares that Annemarie brought me. They are delicious- the Nelson pear/Manuka honey and Wellington coffee ones are my favorites.
