Day 6 – Thursday

I played tourist today, going to a couple of museums and meeting a former colleague for drinks. It was a lovely day for a ferry ride from Larkspur to San Francisco, I got to see a different side of Angel Island!

I spent two hours at the Contemporary Jewish Museum exploring the Jim Henson exhibit, it was fantastic reliving childhood memories of Sesame Street and the Muppet Show. I think this was the first time I read every single explanation and watched all of the videos in an exhibit. It was fascinating ! I found out that Jim Henson made a commercial for IBM, the company my dad worked for for decades.

When I left the museum found a wonderful concert going on at Yerba Buena Gardens, so I sat and enjoyed the fantastic Cajun music, including a keyboardist in her 60s originally from my mom’s hometown of Louisville Kentucky! It was awesome

Next was MOMA, where i enjoyed checking out art from Diego Rivera, and beautiful light and music shows.

I had a little extra time so I went to Salesforce park to rest and have a snack before meeting a friend at Tequila Mockingbird (I can highly recommend their titular signature drink!)

Finally it was time to take the ferry home. So beautiful and relaxing. It was a full and fun day!
