October memories – lots of beach time! Going out to Stinson Beach and remembering how much I love being at the ocean, going wedding dress shopping with Kourtney and her family and her finding an absolutely gorgeous dress that fit perfectly and was on sale. Mom coming home – finally! The VCRC Kermès – seeing some wonderful folklorico dancing. Ahtossa’s judicial induction, hike around Phoenix Lake – another place I haven’t been for a long time, seeing lots of amazing Halloween decorations everywhere. Bothe-Napa Valley State Park with Julie – doing Ridge Trail hikes, enjoying the harvest festival at the o Grist Mill, staying in a wonderful cabin, going to an outdoor movie and to Coppola winery, a hike with lots of labyrinths. Mom getting out for a walk at Tam Valley school and seeing Tia. JNE meeting where we made our yummy dinner, looking after Winston, going for a hike with Julie Ann in Bodega Bay, spending time with Stacy at the Ruth Bancroft Garden – an amazing young man who makes beautiful crochet items. Annemarie having an unexpected trip home, getting to spend time with her celebrating Halloween at Emmy’s house – so much fun seeing everybody dressed up and enjoying the holiday.
Today’s omen – While noise canceling headphones are great for filtering out the sounds of traffic and other modern noises, they also cancel out the sound of birds chirping and water flowing. So you have to decide what is worth canceling out. Is muting the sounds of the modern world worth also losing the sounds of nature? Is there a way for them to coexist?
Worked for a few hours in the morning getting payroll run then went to my friend Isabel’s house to help with some things for her nonprofit. She made us a delicious lunch of tacos with homemade tortillas! I always love spending time with her, she is such a creative, positive person who goes after what she wants, regardless of her circumstances. I stopped at the library to pick up a book I had on hold and saw the period supplies box they had at the front desk – love this idea. On my drive home a saw a rainbow band in the sky for most of the way home – very cool! Evening walk with only holiday lights on the street.
