Last Full Day of Work for the Year!

Today was my last full work day of the year. I was busy wrapping things up and updating information. Spent time later prepping for my next JNE investigation. Ended the day going through stocking stuffers and watching Muppets Christmas Carol. Now I’ve watched all the holiday movies on my mandatory list, anything else I watch is icing.

The Celtic omen that came to me today was the heavy fog in the valley I walked in this morning. I realized that sometimes your view is blocked or hidden, but it doesn’t mean that what you’re looking for is not right there and you just can’t see right now. Soon the fog will clear and you’ll have a better perspective.

Being overdressed for my morning walk made me think that sometimes you can be too overprepared and it weighs you down, constricts you, makes it harder to move and adjust. Give yourself space for flexibility and what will come from within will give you what you need. Also, don’t make yourself too comfortable. You need to have a little insecurity and unsureness in order to be fresh and spontaneous and learn from the moment. If you’re overprepared, it becomes boring and routine, and you lose the excitement, enthusiasm and motivation that comes from staying on your toes.

March 24 memories – helping Emmy buy her car, Michele visiting from Texas and catching up while walking the Martinez waterfront, many waterfall hikes, a fascinating light and sound exhibit at Heron Arts, the Lee Mingwei Rituals of Care exhibit at the de Young– in particular the letter writing project, organ concert at Legion of Honor, looking after Otis and Chicken and stunning sunsets at Baker Beach. Exploring Paris! The Rodan Museum, Eiffel Tower on a rainy night, Cathedral concerts, Metro stations, Monet at the l’Orangerie, touring the Arc de Triomphe, checking out the catacombs, exploring two castles, enjoying my own little spot, just wandering. This was a month where I wasn’t working and could just enjoy getting out and exploring without many responsibilities. I loved following my own interests and moving at my own pace.
